Bye bye blue

If you think about it, it is kind of amazing how many different colors water can appear. You have the crystal clear of a clean river, that mossy green of a lake, the stormy gray of the ocean on a cloudy day, and even crazy pepto-bismol pink lakes that take form around the world. My personal favorite though? That true-blue color of the ocean on a bright sun shiny day. That's the blue we got on our last afternoon in Oregon.

Jewel and I went exploring the rocky eroded bluffs. It was a pretty good spot to just soak in the sunshine and that spectacular view. (And also jump on rocks, dance around, and generally act like silly kids).

I figured this was one tree that might be a little too-sketchy to climb.

Note: green water!

Wobbly rock aka surfboard.

Now if you live inland you should understand that sometimes you just crave the ocean. It's that salty air and refreshing breeze.  It's like it can just wash away all your troubles. Looking out at the impossible expanse toward the horizon you just feel a little smaller; your problems a lot farther away.

We spent the remainder of the evening walking along the beach, dipping our toes in the water. We ran, jumped, splashed, and laughed.

Jewel caught a little fishy. I told her to eat it. Mama was not see keen on the idea.

I was snap-happy with the camera so I tried to get Jewel to model for me. She wasn't big on this plan but frolicked around while I "click, click, clicked" nonetheless.

It was definitely the best way to end our trip. We all left a little more refreshed and a little less stressed. Oregon should expect us back sooner, rather than later, for our next cleanse.

Yours, Kenna
